About us
Sydney Community Forum (SCF) is an independent non-government organisation that has existed since 1974. We work towards social justice, inclusion, and sustainability in a broad region of Sydney. SCF is a community hub that is responsive to emerging social issues and committed to supporting community groups in building their skills and capacity to act for themselves.
OUR STORY
Since 1974, Sydney Community Forum (SCF) has been at the heart of community development across Greater Sydney — bringing people, services, and systems together to build inclusion, connection, and social justice.
What began as a small local initiative has grown into a trusted, independent organisation that supports individuals and communities to participate in shaping a fair and compassionate society.
Today, SCF continues to evolve with the needs of Sydney’s diverse communities. Through our projects targeting the vulnerable and the disadvantaged, we address social challenges, promote wellbeing, and create opportunities for connection and belonging.
Guided by our values of social justice, inclusion, and sustainability, we remain committed to building stronger, more resilient communities — together.
For over five decades, SCF has worked alongside community members, government, and partner organizations to strengthen local leadership and amplify the voices of those often unheard.
From supporting grassroots networks to facilitating collaborative projects, our focus remains on ensuring that every person — regardless of background, ability, or circumstance — feels valued and supported to thrive.
